SMLRO 48V 15AH 500W Hardtail 26inch eBike Unboxing
To start with, this is my first bike since after my school days. I get this e-bike to commute and to cover some ground while shooting photographs for crosscountry or trail runs.
This is my bike: goo.gl/51nyR3
This is where I bought: goo.gl/MC6fWG
Dimensions: goo.gl/K84sRU
Top Tube 550mm
Head Tube 125mm
Seat Tube 460mm
Chain Stay 425mm
Wheel Base 1050mm
Stand Over 725mm
Bottom Bracker Height 280mm
Handlebar length excluding bar ends 590mm
The good:
∙Price.
∙Aluminum alloy frame
∙Paintjob looks nice
∙Auto assist if pedalling, and it feels easy.
∙Can use thumb throttle is don't want to pedal.
∙Motor cut off on braking.
∙Handle grips with slightly flat outer end were quite comfortable.
∙5 levels of assist power selectable.
∙Integrated alarm, with remote lock/unlocking, it sounds off if moved while locked.
∙It was easy enough to assemble without a manual, non provided.
The bad:
∙Its a little heavy to cycle without turning motor on
∙Some delay in assist after pedaling may need getting used to.
∙Throttle on the right cramps up with rear shift.
∙Motor display cramps up with front shift.
∙Battery can be difficult to remove and put back.
∙Front suspension hardly there.
∙Light has bright center and dimmer outer ring but angle is a little narrow.
∙According to seller, non of the electronics are waterproof. OK in light rain.
∙On Chinese seller site it says Five-star brakes, actually 'Wuxing'(literally 5 star) brand brake. Hahaha.
On a side note, just to satisfy my curiosity, I found out that it cannot get up damp soil hill of about 30°. The tire don't have the grip, and the motor don't have the power with me on it. A real mountain biker probably can but I am not.
After a 21km trip on mixed paved road and off road the 15AH battery is down to 50%. goo.gl/Bm5Xg1
My verdict, for the price I pay, it's a pretty good commute e-bike. Pretty good for non-technical off roads too, but never reallly a MTB. I would also appreciate if the electronics be simplified and smaller.
